Regenerative PRP Therapy For Skin:

Clinical research on PRP treatment efficacy for skin and thinning hair

Cosmetic regenerative PRP therapy provides growth factors from your own blood to optimize your wound healing and is used for several non-surgical cosmetic skin treatments to enhance the results of your cosmetic skin treatment. We love the natural results from regenerative PRP skin treatments for improvement of several common cosmetic skin problems such as; skin aging,  acne and other scars, stretch marks, melasma and other hyperpigmentation disorders. In our Dallas and Southlake regenerative PRP therapy clinics we combine your PRP with different types of skin treatments specific to your needs to help you achieve your personal best for your skin needs. For our patients we use the regenerative PRP skin therapy for the following conditions:

PRP skin therapy via growth factor release and healthy tissue regeneration is used for several skin conditions

eye-Hollow-TreatmentPRP Skin Surface Rejuvenation and Photodamage Repair

PRP injection into the dermis (middle layer of skin) and application of PRP topically with Micropen microneedling skin treatment may improve skin surface aging, fine lines, pigmentation, texture and skin tone.  For most of our patients with mild to moderate skin surface aging, we recommend a series of three Micropen treatments with a single PRP injection and topical application treatment with the first Micropen treatment. Individual variations in response occur with all treatments, your treatment is modified based on your response

*Individual results vary with genetic, hormonal, environmental and other influences

MFR-Nonsurgical-Skin-Tightening-1024x645PRP Skin Tightening and PRP Deep wrinkle Reduction

To address the signs of deeper skin aging such loss of skin elasticity, deep wrinkles and folds, which present as jowls, sagging of the eyelids, sagging of the skin below the chin, deep nasolabial folds and so forth, we recommend a deeper skin tightening and collagen building treatment, the Microneedle Fractional Radiofrequency or MFR with  PRP. The injection of PRP into the dermis (middle layer of skin) and application of PRP topically with the MFR skin treatment may improve skin tightness, build collagen to lessen the appearance of deep wrinkles, deep folds, jowls, tighten the neck skin and lift the eyelids.

For most individuals with mild to moderate loss of elasticity, sagging and deep wrinkles we start with three sessions of MFR, four weeks apart with a single PRP at the time of the first MFR treatment. Individual variations in response to treatment may lead to modification of the treatment course.

PRP-Hand-Rejuvenation-ResultsPRP with Dermal Fillers for Volume Enhancement

For areas with mild to moderate volume loss below the skin such as the age-related thinning of the back of hands, deep under-eye circles and loss of facial volume, PRP injections below the dermis can be combined with an FDA-approved dermal filler for volume replenishment. The advantage of PRP is that the regenerative response of your body leads to an improvement in the skin texture, firmness and tightness with healthy new tissue along with the volume that is replenished with the dermal filler. We see this effect most noticeable in the under eye area.

Melasma-TreatmentPRP Melasma and Hyperpigmentation Treatment

Melasma and hyperpigmentation are conditions that can be frustrating to treat due to the fact that the very treatment used for these conditions can make the pigmentation worse. We use PRP injections into the area of skin with hyperpigmentation and melasma and apply PRP with a micropen/microneedling type treatment for even distribution of PRP to lessen the intensity of pigmentation. The effect of PRP on reducing melasma and hyperpigmentation is thought to be due to the increase in the volume of HA in the skin and studies have found that two of the eight growth factors in PRP actually stabilize the melanocytes cells to actually reduce pigmentation in the treated individuals.

For most individuals with resistant melasma and hyperpigmentation, we recommend a series of three PRP treatments with a series of three micropen treatments, 5-6 weeks apart. We also combine melasma and hyperpigmentation treatments with our customized prescription compounded skin fading creme if there are no contraindications to the use of such product to enhance the results of PRP and Micropen treatments.

PRP Scar Therapy

PRP Scar Treatment  For Shallow and Deep Scars of Face and Body

Acne and other scars that respond poorly to other treatments can be effectively reduced with a series of PRP injection and topical application with microneedle/ micropen, Co2 fractional laser resurfacing, microneedle fractional radiofrequency and or a dermal filler treatment. PRP injection alone will lead to stimulation of collagen to lessen the depth and improve hyperpigmentation. The type of adjunctive treatment with your PRP will depend on the type of your scars and the Fitzpatrick phototype of your skin. Generally shallower scars do great with micropen and microdermabrasion, deeper scars may need CO2 laser resurfacing and ice pick type scars may need a combination of microneedling/micropen for surface improvement and microneedle fractional radiofrequency for collagen induction so the scars can be reduced from inside out.

*Individual results vary with genetic, hormonal, environmental and other influences

Micropen-Stretchmarktreatment PRP Stretch Mark Treatment

Stretch marks are common in women and men of all ages. Stretch marks can present on many areas of the body such as tummy, thighs, buttocks etc due to a rapid increase in size such as rapid growth during puberty, increase in size during pregnancy and with a sizable weight gain. Stretch marks are like dermal scars in many ways and can be reduced in the same way as dermal scars. best treatment results are achieved with early intervention. For most individuals with stretch marks, we recommend a series of 3-5 micropen/microneedling treatments with PRP injection and PRP topical application with one or two of the microneedling sessions. Due to individual variations in response, the treatment plan may be modified.

Why You Should Be Wary Of “PRP Deals”?

How Is The Regenerative PRP Skin Therapy Done?

For the PRP cosmetic skin treatments, we draw a small amount of your own blood, carefully prepare it in the FDA approved HarvestKit® PRP  to separate your platelets from other blood cells without losing growth factors. We then activate the platelets to release the growth factors and apply it to the area being treated for the desired results. For skin rejuvenation with PRP, we inject your PRP into the skin with one of the several types of minimally invasive cosmetic skin treatments such as;

  • Micropen for skin surface imperfections
  • Microneedle Fractional Radiofrequency (MFR)for non-surgical skin tightening and lift
  • CO2 Fractional Laser resurfacing to address deep wrinkles and deep scars
  • PDO Threads to enhance the non-surgical facelift and neck lift results
  •  Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers for subdermal volume

The subcutaneous injections of your PRP and the micro wounds created by the adjunctive treatment deliver your platelets and essential growth factors where they are needed the most to encourage skin healing and renewal through new collagen production. This increase in collagen and growth factors creates plumper, firmer skin and more youthful skin. Typically results take 4-6 months after the treatment.

Before your Cosmetic PRP Therapy,  you will have a thorough consultation with Dr Malik. During this visit, she will evaluate your medical history for appropriateness of the cosmetic PRP treatments and she will discuss your goals and expectations for the treatment.

This procedure is not suitable if you have certain blood disorders, platelet dysfunction, severe anemia, or blood or bone cancers. Patients who take blood-thinning medication or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin and other NSAIDs,  should discontinue their medication for two weeks prior to their PRP cosmetic treatment and for one week afterwards. Any medication change needs to be done  AFTER discussing with your primary care physician.
