CO2 Fractional Laser Resurfacing- Benefits and Results of DOT Therapy

DOTCO2-Laser-NailaMalikMD-Dallas-1024x640.jpg

Our patient DOT therapy patient, individual results vary

The secret to safety and quick recovery with the DOT therapy is that DOT utilizes a “dot’ pattern to create thousands of microscopic perforations in the skin while leaving areas around the “dots” intact. This laser allows for your skin to heal more rapidly from the edge of these tiny islands of intact skin. The overall treatment is faster, safer, and more efficient than the older CO2 laser skin treatments. Some of the benefits of the DOT therapy CO2 fractional laser skin resurfacing are:

  • Minimal downtime
  • Rapid healing
  • Quick treatment
  • Lower risk than other CO2 laser resurfacing treatments without compromising results
  • Accurate, reproducible results
  • Customized treatments
  • Minimally invasive
  • No sedation needed
  • Very safe for MOST skin types*

What will DOT Therapy Do for Me?

DOT therapy with CO2 fractional laser can lead to significant improvement in fine & deep wrinkles, texture, sun induced pigment changes, acne and other scars and stretch marks. Here are some of the skin conditions  that have excellent improvement with the DOT therapy Co2 fractional laser resurfacing:

  • Photo aging
  • Fine & deep lines around the mouth or “Smoker’s lines”
  • Crow’s feet
  • Age spots
  • Moderate depth acne or other scars
  • Large pores
  • Stretch marks that developed during puberty or pregnancy
  • Droopy or heavy eyelids- the “madonnalift”

If you have spent years in the sun, especially without adequate sun protection, then you probably are familiar with photo-aging; rough skin texture, fine and deep lines, pigment irregularity, poor skin tone and loss of skin elasticity. A single DOT therapy in our Southlake office can significantly improve all of the signs of photo-aging in one to three** treatments.

Our patient, before and after DOT therapy, individual results vary

The down time after DOT therapy is far less than that after a traditional CO2 laser resurfacing due to rapid healing. We recommend our patients to plan on 5-7 days of “social break” after their DOT therapy to allow their skin to heal. The results after one to three** DOT therapy treatments may include:

  • Radiant, renewed skin
  • Even skin color from reduction in sun-induced pigment irregularities
  • Smoother skin texture
  • Softer fine lines and deep wrinkles
  • Tighter, firmer skin
  • Tighter eyelid skin for a subtle “eye-lift”*
  • Decrease in appearance of large pores

What Types of Laser Peels Can be Done with Deka CO2 Fractional Laser?

Fractional CO2 laser treatments using the Deka Dot™ laser can be used at various settings and depth to suit your skin needs.

Our laser certified expert treatment providers can adjust the power, depth, and spacing of the laser “DOTS” customized to your skin needs and your time schedule. Treatment versions with DOT CO2 therapy include:

  • Full Depth Face and Neck DEKA DOT™ Laser peel
  • The Weekend Peel

Full Depth Face and Neck DEKA DOT™ Laser peel

We prefer to do this type of peel for those individuals who are ready for a more aggressive treatment with 7-10 days of downtime and have extensive sun damage, deep wrinkles, deep scars. A single, moderate to high-energy treatment with moderate depth consists of one DOT therapy session which can significantly improve deep wrinkles, surface solar lentigines, rough skin texture and scarring. This treatment is associated with moderate discomfort requiring oral pain medication for a few days after the treatment. There is minimal of 7-10 days of downtime where you have significantly visible skin peeling and moderate to significant redness. This treatment is not recommended for everyone especially those with darker skin tone or recent tan. We strongly recommend, a few weeks of skin “priming” with prescription medication before a  deep fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing for best results.

The Weekend Peel- Light DOT CO2 Laser Peel

The newer DOT Therapy protocol, “The Weekend Peel” involves the same DOT CO2 fractional laser technology delivered at lower energy and depth settings.
As a stand-alone treatment, the Weekend Peel is excellent for improvement of mild sun-induced skin damage, skin surface imperfections, brown spots, rough texture, and minor scars.
A series of three Weekend Peels 3-4 weeks apart can provide the same results as ONE full depth, high-energy DOT CO2 therapy without the discomfort and downtime.
Minimal Discomfort, Minimal Downtime, Same Great Results as the Full Depth DOT Therapy*!
*With a series of three Weekend Peels

Summer Peel with PlasmaGenesis

Summer Peel program is essentially a series of weekend peels combined with Dr. Malik’s protocol for PlasmaGenesis. Treatments are performed every 5-6 weeks, up to 3 treatments. Since the benefits are additive they are grouped as a package. If you get treated on Friday, you can be back to work Monday. Makeup can be applied immediately after treatments.

Fall 3R Skin Care Program; Resurface, Replenish and Rejuvenate

Fall is the perfect time for the three “R’s” of skin care to rid your skin of sun damage and repair skin architecture for fresh, youthful skin.

Resurface with DOT CO2 Laser Peel.

“The Weekend Peel” involves a series of three lower energy, lower depth CO2 fractional laser resurfacing treatments 3-4 weeks apart.

Minimal Discomfort, Minimal Downtime, Same Great Results as the Full Depth DOT Therapy

Replenish with Growth Factors and Nutrients

After your laser skin surfacing treatment, replenish the newly regenerated skin with your own growth factors, or a cocktail of hyaluronic acid and antioxidants.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is obtained from your own blood and provides eight growth factors for maximum collagen induction.

DermaShine MD Radiance treatment involves microinjections of a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and nutrients into the dermis.

Madonnalift & PlasmaGenesis

Actual DOT therapy patient, individual results vary

The DOT CO2 laser therapy around the eyes, improves wrinkles, skin texture, firmness and dark circles; the results is tighter eyelids and subtle eyelid elevation of the upper eyelids. The Madonna Lift gained popularity due to treatment of its namesake. It involves a laser treatment with the Deka Dot™ of the upper and lower eyelid skin. The actual laser resurfacing take about 10 minutes, we allow an additional 20-30 minutes for the topical anesthesia to work. The treatments are done between three to five times, once every three to four weeks. After each treatment, most patients have mild swelling and redness for about three days. Individual healing, downtime and response varies. Treatments can be scheduled based on individual response. Dr. Malik combines majority of laser resurfacing treatments with PlasmaGenesis for maximum results in collagen synthesis and skin cell renewal via your own platelet derived growth factors.
