PlasmaGenesis with PRP for the treatment of age-related sexual decline in men is a non-surgical treatment aimed to improve performance, sensation and function for men, especially those who have a decline in function due to age-related, hormonal decline, diabetes, following surgery of the urinary tract, cardiovascular disease and other medical illnesses. The PRP Therapy for men is a minimally invasive treatment which takes about an hour in our Dallas and Southlake offices. The treatment is performed with topical anesthetic and requires no sedation or knives.
What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is made from your own blood and consists of a concentrated blood sample with high levels of platelets, an essential component of your body’s wound healing process. Upon activation, your platelets release eight growth factors that are responsible for stimulating tissue generation and repair. Growth factors derived from platelets are responsible for soft tissue repair, bone regeneration, development of new blood vessels, and of healthy new tissue to heal the injured area. The PRP therapy for men begins with a small amount of blood drawn by our PRP trained medical assistant from your arm vein. Your blood is centrifuged in an FDA approved PRP system, the Harvest Smartprep, in our Dallas and Southlake offices, while you relax and wait for the topical numbing creme to work. The entire treatment takes about an hour and is quite painless.
How Does Regenerative PRP Therapy Work To Improve Function in Men?
Your PRP, when processed with the Harvest Smartprep, consists of 4X-6X the concentration of platelets than your whole blood. These healthy, concentrated platelets, when obtained through a high quality PRP system, like the Harvest system and placed into the penis release eight growth factors; which start a regenerative process in the treatment area leading to synthesis of healthy new tissue along with healthy new blood vessels and improvement in the condition of pre-existing tissue and blood vessels. Over the weeks following the treatment, better blood flow and improved penile tissue lead to better sexual function.
Does it Hurt?
There is very little discomfort from the injection treatment; this is due to the fact that we apply a very effective, custom-compounded topical numbing creme to the treatment area for 20-30 minutes before the treatment and use a very tiny needle for the injection. Our patients are surprised by the efficacy of the numbing creme.
What Are Other Benefits of PlasmaGenesis with PRP?
Other benefits of PRP treatment are that this is a completely natural treatment which uses your body’s own healing process to improve your sexual function. There is no chance of allergic reaction from this treatment and the improvement starts within days after the treatment. The results from your PRP sexual enhancement last several months after a single treatment. Because there is no way to actually stop the process of aging or changing the underlying condition, the treatment will need to be repeated every few months to maintain results.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Because PlasmaGenesis works via your own tissue generation, your individual response is determined by your genetics, your overall medical health, your lifestyle, nutrition, stress level and other factors and is difficult to predict. For the majority of our patients, we recommend two treatments, eight to ten weeks apart, followed by a single treatment every eight to twelve months to maintain the results.
Am I a Candidate for PRP Sexual Enhancement?
The regenerative PRP treatment for men is not for everyone. PRP is not an option for those individuals with platelet disorders, certain types of cancer, individuals taking a blood thinning medication for medical reasons and a few other conditions.
Smoking, excessive drinking, obesity and overall poor health and unhealthy lifestyle lead to less than optimum results.
