How does Laser hair removal work?
The laser penetrates through the skin into the hair follicle and destroys all
hair in active growth phase.

How many treatments will I need?
This varies with each individual. At any time, most people have 10% to 20 % of all hair in active growth phase;most people will have significant hair reduction with 6 to 10 treatments.

What results should I expect?
Studies show laser hair removal can be effective in reducing hair growth by 40 to 80%.
Results vary in each individual. There are some people who do not respond to laser hair removal. Multiple treatments can prolong duration of hair loss. Re growth is possible and can be managed with touch up treatments.

What are the risks?
• Darkening of skin (hyper pigmentation). Usually temporary, more common in dark skin individuals, may be permanent in rare cases.
• Lightening of skin (hypo pigmentation). More common in dark skin individuals.
• Localized burn in the treated areas, usually mild, rarely severe. Treated with frequent application of moisturizers, Aloe, avoidance of sun and skin irritants.

What to expect during treatment?
Laser hair removal needs short hair. We recommend shaving the area to be treated 1 or 2 days before treatment. During treatment area of skin is cooled with a special tip before firing the laser to reduce skin burn and discomfort. Most patients describe sensation of  rubber band snapping with each trigger. Treated area is mildly red for 1 to 2 days and mild stinging of skin with soap or deodorant is common. We recommend moisturizer, aloe, avoidance of irritants, sun and tanning beds during treatments.
We offer topical anesthetic creme for sensitive areas for 20 to 30 minutes before the procedure, this significantly reduces the discomfort.
